Building bridges between natural science, technology and social science
TUM Friedrich Schiedel Fellowship for Technology in Society founded
The Fellowship is intended for young TUM scientists and offers financial support for scientific work which is supervised jointly by specialized experts from the social sciences and scientific-technical profile areas at TUM, e.g. in robotics, quantum technologies or digital medicine. For this purpose, the Friedrich Schiedel Foundation is providing up to 625,000 euros over a period of five years. TUM will match this amount with its own funding.

- Recognized as a community service entity, the Friedrich Schiedel Foundation is dedicated to promoting science and research as well as projects in support of youth, the elderly and social institutions. In addition to the new Fellowship these efforts also include the "Friedrich Schiedel Prize for Politics and Technology", awarded annually by TUM since 2018 to highly distinguished personalities from science, politics, technology, industry and business.
