Public Engagement | Dialog and Partnership with Society

As a university, we want to actively shape the future and put people at the center of our work in the spirit of human-centred engineering. Discover the dimensions of our public engagement strategy: Inspire • Engage • Enable.

Our society is facing major challenges. TUM is committed to making a sustainable contribution to society through human-centered science and engineering. Public engagement formats foster dialogue with the public, which in turn benefits our researchers.

Understanding the qantum world

The QuantWorld learning platform is designed to help citizens discover how quantum technologies affect their daily lives.

Engage

Together with stakeholders in society, we plan research projects and analyze results, for example in the area of mobility. We intend to specifically promote and develop such collaborations, as many of society's challenges can only be solved together.

Places for joint research

The public must be involved in technology development right from the start, says Prof. Jörg Niewöhner. He is building public science labs where researchers can exchange ideas with society.

At the TUM Center for Educational Technologies, learners and teachers are involved in the development of new technologies, says Director Prof. Enkelejda Kasneci.

Enable

To communicate our research findings, we rely above all on the researchers at TUM. They are the best ambassadors for their work, and we seek to empower them to enter into a dialog with the public.
