Steering Committee
Digitization in Studies and Teaching
The Board of the Technical University of Munich has set up the Steering Committee for Digitalization in Studies and Teaching with the aim of making the digitalization process in studies and teaching more dynamic.
Its members are TUM’s IT Management, the TUM Center for Study and Teaching, and a delegate from the schools.
All projects are carefully examined by the steering committee and evaluated in terms of their benefits, expected costs, and complexity, and prioritized based on these criteria.
Current digitization projects
The following digitization projects are currently in progress in the area of studies and teaching:

“beBPo”: special electronic mailbox for public authorities for the TUM CST Legal Affaris department

“eSiegel”: automated certification of documents for students in TUMonline with advanced electronic seal

“eSiegel” and “eSignaturen”: certification and verification of digital documents in the TUM Trust Center

Digital preliminary degree certificate: availability with eSiegel in TUMonline

Digital StudentCard: student ID with payment function in the TUM App

Digitization of various applications such as the application for leave of absence

Digitization of the procedures regarding theses

Digital enrollment: online enrollment without media discontinuity

Digital statutes and regulations

Digitization of the administrative boards’ processes

Cloud-based software for event management

Cloud-based software for appointment booking

Threat alerting: oftware for alerting TUM employees and students in threatening situations

MoveON: connection of the platform for international exchange to TUMonline
