Consequently, the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE) has created a new ranking that measures the interdisciplinary dimension of research. The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is ranked number 1 in Germany and 12th worldwide.

TUM in the top 10 in three subjects

TUM is among the top 10 universities in three subjects in the Shanghai Rankings. In remote sensing, agricultural sciences and biotechnology, the rankings place its research achievements at the very top of the global list. In five other subjects, TUM achieved excellent positions in the top 50.
