TUM Open Campus

• What is the "TUM Open Campus"?

The TUM Open Campus for study orientation takes place annually for all those who can imagine starting a Bachelor's program at TUM or simply want to get a taste of university life. On various Fridays (afternoons) in March, events are held at one of the four locations in and around Munich and information stands are set up to answer questions.

You can visit the information stands without registering, but you have to register for most of the events. Participation is free of charge.

Teachers or parents, friends and relatives are also very welcome, but we ask that you refrain from registering for the program items. You are welcome to attend lectures if room capacity permits.

Please note that group registrations are not possible. Pupils should decide in advance which events they are interested in. It has been shown that it works best if they register themselves.

• How and where can I register for individual events?

If you would like to take part in the lectures, guided tours, workshops etc., you must register for them. Simply click on the desired event at the top of the program and register.

Once you have successfully registered for a program item, you will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail. In this e-mail you will be shown the exact venue / meeting point under “Important information”. Three days before the event, you will receive a reminder e-mail with important information on all events. If you need to confirm your registration on site, simply show your smartphone.

• How do I receive my certificate of attendance?

If you have registered for one of the events, the certificate of attendance will be sent automatically by e-mail within one week of the event at the latest.

• How do I get to the different locations?

The Munich Campus (Arcisstraße & Olympiapark), Garching Campus and Weihenstephan Campus are located within the MVV area and can be easily reached by public transport. The nearest stops are indicated in the maps. Please use the pages of the MVV to plan your arrival and departure.

The Straubing campus is not located in the MVV area, so please use the travel information of the Deutsche Bahn.

Munich: StuCafé Audimax (open until 5 pm., cash only)

Garching: Chicco di Café (open until 5 pm., cash and ec card)

Weihenstephan: Coffee & cake (on donation basis)

• Where can I find the lecture halls and info-points?

Once you have successfully registered for a event, you will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail. In this e-mail you will be shown the exact venue / meeting point (including room link) under “Wichtige Hinweise”. Please take a look at your registered events and the site plans in advance. We make every effort to signpost the rooms as clearly as possible. Be on time at the meeting locations and feel free to plan for a time buffer, as some of the locations are quite spread out.

• Are the locations barrier-free?

The TUM buildings and rooms are equipped with varying degrees of accessibility. For more detailed information or if you require specific equipment for an event, please contact the team at the Office for Studying with Special Needs in advance.
