Ready for a new term of Munich’s university for Kids, when the „KinderUni München“ returns to TUM? We kick off this term with a really moving lecture by Karsten Köhler, who is a professor for Exercise, Nutrition and Health at the TUM School of Medicine and Health:

Energy with a difference: How much energy do we use during sport and where does this energy actually come from?

Our body constantly consumes energy, especially when we exercise, but also when we sleep. This energy comes from our food, which we first have to digest and then process so that the power stations in each of our body cells can "burn" it. This is called "metabolism". In this lecture, we get to know it better – and discover the forms in which we can utilise energy, the activities for which we need a lot of energy, and why we are particularly hungry when we do a lot of sport.

Hungry for knowledge? Enroll now and determine your own energy expenditure as part of the lecture. Entry is free. The lecture will be held in German.

Enroll here: starting 1 Oct

What is the KinderUni?

The Munich KinderUni offers exciting science lectures and events for children aged 7 to 12 at a different Munich university every semester. There, professors talk about what they are researching and are particularly knowledgeable about. In the winter semester 24/25, it will once again come toTUM.

The events usually last about an hour. Please make sure to be there about 15 minutes earlier. Then you can secure an entry in your student handbook before the lecture begins.
