Daniela Schwarz is the new Gender Equality Officer at TUM

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has a new Gender Equality Officer. The TUM Senate, the university's academic supervisory body, elected Dr. Daniela Schwarz. She was previously the Gender Equality Officer of the former Department of Sport and Health Sciences and works at the Chair of Sport and Health Didactics in the TUM School for Medicine and Health.

The Gender Equality Officer is responsible for the comprehensive and university-wide promotion of gender diversity as well as advising the university management on gender equality issues and monitoring equal opportunities at all levels. She is a voting member of the TUM Senate and comments on all appointment procedures from a gender equality perspective. She also advises and supports academic staff who feel disadvantaged compared to the opposite sex.

The mathematician Prof. Felix Krahmer, who has been the TUM School of Computation, Information, and Technology's Gender Equality Officer since 2022, was elected as the new Deputy Gender Equality Officerof TUM last November. This is the first time gender equality at TUM has been promoted by a gender-mixed team of Gender Equality Officers.
