Deferring Admission
You have been admitted to TUM but need to defer admission? This is how you go about it:
- Decline your place in the degree program in your TUMonline account. If this is no longer possible, contact studium and state your applicant or application number. Declining a place in a degree program does not revoke the admission. @tum.de
- Re-apply for the semester you want to commence your studies in during the relevant application period using your existing TUMonline-Account, and upload all required documents.
The documents you submitted during your initial application are destroyed in compliance with our data privacy guidelines. You need to re-submit a complete set of documents with your new application.
Given that the criteria for admission (as set forth in the Academic and Examination Regulations) have not changed substantially, your will then be admitted directly without having to re-submit to aptitude assessment. Usually, admission remains valid for all subsequent applications. For specific information, please consult the Academic and Examination Regulations of your degree program. If you have questions concerning these criteria, please contact the Departmental Student Advisor for the respective degree program.
