Discover and try things out: We have invited you to experience research up close for a whole day.

At the Garching research campus, visitors were invited to experience science in lectures, hands-on activities, guided tours and much more. Whether young or old, there were numerous activities for every one on this day: students, staff and external guests. In addition to TUM, many other research institutions such as the Max Planck and Fraunhofer Institutes took part in the day of action.

Are you planning to do a doctorate at your alma mater, TUM? The PrepDoc program of the TUM Graduate School offers Master's students valuable insights into planning their doctorate. From the search for a suitable supervisor to financing options and international stays during your doctorate - various events and workshops will help you prepare for your doctorate at TUM.

The program is free of charge. Interested Master's students can register for the events independently of each other.

  • Introductory event: Information on the doctoral process and insights from TUM doctoral candidates and researchers
  • Workshops: Inputs on specific topics, such as doing a doctorate as a first-generation academic, international mobility, choosing a supervisor, funding and literature research
