Presenter
Roman Köster, Historian

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Kunsthalle München is dedicating the exhibition “Civilization” to the question of how we live today and illustrates the diversity and contradictions of our civilization. In collaboration with the TUM Center for Culture and Arts, a lecture series will be held at TUM.

The second guest lecture in the series will be given by historian Dr. Roman Köster on the topic of “Garbage. A sordid history of mankind” (in German): Waste is one of the biggest environmental problems facing mankind today. The lecture describes how the issue of waste has changed throughout history. It gives an overview of how earlier societies dealt with their remains, why the amount of waste has increased so much and why we cannot easily get rid of waste.

Admission is free of charge.
