TUM and University of Queensland expand flagship partnership

TUM President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann said: "Our flagship partnership with the University of Queensland is a great example of a truly comprehensive partnership. It goes beyond joint research in future fields and includes unique study opportunities, accelerated knowledge transfer, and the exchange of best practices as part of both universities' internationalization strategies." The cooperation includes all seven TUM Schools and the TUM Campus Straubing, as well as all six faculties and four institutes of UQ.

UQ is a long-standing partner of TUM's International Graduate School of Science and Engineering (IGSSE), TUM and UQ are founding members of the Global Bioeconomy Alliance, and with 151 joint scientific publications since 2020, UQ is one of TUM's most important research partners in the Asia-Pacific region. The number of joint publications has increased by over 120 percent in the past five years. In research, scientists cooperate primarily in the fields of chemistry, catalysis and chemical engineering, agricultural and life sciences as well as medicine.

Students can obtain Master's degrees from both universities in three subjects:
