Aid Programs at TUM for Our Community Members Affected by War in the Ukraine
Call for Donations for Students and Scholarships for Researchers
University President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann underscores: "As a sign of international understanding and solidarity, we, as a university community, want to support those students who have been cut off from their homeland and therefore issue a call for donations!" The aim is to help these young people to cushion the burdens of living expenses and rent.
In doing so, TUM relies on the solidarity of its community and asks its members, partners, and friends to contribute within their financial means. The goal is to help affected students complete their studies at TUM successfully. "We want these students to experience solidarity and transnational friendship and thereby do our part to ensure that they themselves can stand up for a better future without war and hatred."
If you want to help the students, you can donate to the following account of the TUM University Foundation under the subject "Solidarity": IBAN: DE97 7002 0270 0010 2808 80, BIC: HYVEDEMMXXX. Every euro is welcome and even small amounts help.
TUM-IAS Fellowships for Researchers from the Ukraine
It is anticipated that numerous researchers will be forced to leave their home country of the Ukraine in order to bring themselves and their families to safety. In response, TUM has established a fellowship program to provide scholarships for an initial six-month research stay. The program is organized by the TUM Institute for Advanced Study (TUM-IAS), which has been bringing international scientists to TUM for research stays for ten years now.
The fellows will be provided with office space at the TUM-IAS in Garching and will conduct research on promising projects in cooperation with a TUM professor. The fellows and their families will also be provided with accommodation.
