Event location
Garching
Public event
Target audience
publically
As part of the new outreach project Quanten(t)räume of the Deutsches Museum and other educational and research institutions in Munich, the MPQ school laboratory PhotonLab offers a visit to the school laboratory for anyone aged 14 and over who is interested in quantum physics. More than 20 different experimental stations await visitors, allowing them to learn about the basics of quantum physics and photonics and how these exciting phenomena form the basis for today's communication technology and the quantum technologies of the future.
2025 - International Year of Quantum Science and Technology
When quantum mechanics was formulated in 1925, physics laid the foundation for our current understanding of nature. 100 years later, in 2025, quantum mechanics is having an impact on all areas of our culture, science, technology and art. UNESCO has therefore declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
