Expert in Digitalization and IT Systems Confirmed by the University Board of Trustees

Alexander Braun Re-elected as Vice President of TUM

IT expert and civil engineer Dr. Alexander Braun will remain the Executive Vice President of TUM for Digitalization and IT Systems. The University Board of Trustees has re-elected him to the TUM Board of Management for another three-year term. He also serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of TUM.

A native of Munich, Dr. Alexander Braun studied civil engineering at TUM and earned his doctorate there. Among the major IT projects initiated during his first term are the introduction of SAP S4 HANA, the establishment of a centralized research data management system, the expansion of IT security, and new opportunities for TUM students and staff to use artificial intelligence.

The University Board of Trustees is the supervisory body of TUM. It is composed of ten internally elected members of the Senate and ten external figures from the fields of science, culture, business, and politics. The chair is Prof. Dr. Heyo K. Kroemer, CEO of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
