Event location
German Museum
Target audience
publically
Presenter
Prof. Sebastian Steinhorst
In this lecture, Prof. Sebastian Steinhorst will provide an insight into the latest developments in the Internet of Things with exciting fields of application ranging from smart homes to autonomous driving and far beyond. However, despite the fascination with digital visions of the future, a critical look must also be taken at information security, privacy, sustainability and reliability of current and especially future systems, which this lecture will also address.
The Internet of Things describes the networking of everyday objects as part of the digital revolution that affects all areas of our lives. With the rapid development of autonomous systems, the Internet of Things will become even more independent and capable in the future. Not only is autonomous driving slowly becoming a reality, we also expect intelligent objects to simply think for themselves in the future. With the help of rapid progress in the field of artificial intelligence, we are facing fascinating new opportunities, but also new challenges that will only arise as a result of this progress.
