Fundraising campaign for the 'Deutschlandstipendium'

Supporting young talent together

Funding a scholarship does not need to be a major financial effort. It is also possible to support young people on their educational path together, with many individual contributions. Marking the anniversary of the national scholarship program 'Deutschlandstipendium', we are therefore joining the strengths of our university family with a fundraising campagin. Let us foster young talents in all their diversity together!

Becoming part of a lively and committed network: Recipients and sponsors of the scholarship get the chance to meet at a festive kick-off event.

In view of the corona crisis, young talents need more support than ever. Marking the 10th anniversary of the ‘Deutschlandstipendium’ scholarship program, TUM is collecting donations so that even more TUM students can benefit from a Deutschlandstipendium.

The idea is simple: Anyone and everyone can help endow an entire scholarship of 1,800 euros with just a small contribution. As always with the Deutschlandstipendium, the federal government doubles every euro. Each recipient of a scholarship thus receives 300 euros each month, and what's more, becomes part of a very lively, committed network.

Donating – here’s how! Every contribution counts

Simply donate online – or use a bank transfer by 25 July 2021 to:

No other German university has more Deutschlandstipendium scholarship holders than TUM. More than 800 scholarships could be awarded in the funding year of 2020/2021 alone thanks to the committment of companies, foundations and private donors. The TUM University Foundation, too, funds several of these scholarships each year.

Not convinced, yet? What do recipients of the Deutschlandstipendium say?

Corinna Lingstädt, Florian Brunner and Simon van Endern are alumni and active participants in the Deutschlandstipendium - and have even sponsored scholarships themselves. What did the Deutschlandstipendium mean to them? And why would they like to encourage other friends, members and alumni of our university to support the current student generation?

As founding members of the Deutschlandstipendium support association at TUM, the three came up with the idea a few years ago themselves to bring their financial resources together in order to support young talent.

  • Achievement can mean many things – and apart from obtaining certificates, it can also be a matter of commitment to society. That is why the Deutschlandstipendium supports people who get involved, with regard to academic performance, social commitment, and other social criteria.
  • The scholarship holders receive 300 Euros per month for one year. Half of the money is provided by the federal government, which initiated the scholarship program.
  • The universities themselves get the other half from companies, foundations, and private individuals. In the ten years since the start of the Deutschlandstipendium, TUM has awarded a total of around 5,300 scholarships, more than 800 in the funding year of 2020/2021 alone.
  • Students can apply from June 28 to July 11, 2021. Additionally, prospective students who have completed their Abitur can also apply from July 26 to August 8, 2021. There is no age restriction.
