TUM4Mind: Charge your batteries for the exam phase
To make the start into the exam phase a bit easier, TUM4Mind offers various workshops for your physical and mental relaxation. All offers take place online, sometimes in the morning to start the day, sometimes in the evening to switch off before going to bed. Time period: February 14 to 27, 2023. TUM Speakers Series: George Soros at the Audimax
As an official event on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, George Soros will speak to TUM students on February 16, 2023 at 6.15 pm in the Audimax at Arcisstraße 21. The investor, philanthropist and founder of the Open Society Foundations has been committed to human rights, education, health and transparency in politics for over four decades. EuroTeQ: Apply now for courses in the summer semester 2023
Through EuroTeQ Engineering University, students from all partner universities can join courses from the common EuroTeQ course catalogue. TUM students can thus participate in courses at DTU, TU/e, L'X, Technion, TalTech and CTU - and also at TUM itself. The application deadline for offerings in the summer semester 2023 has been extended to February 24. International campus life: Become a tutor for TUMi
Do you like organizing events and would you like to volunteer in a young, dynamic, international team? You can also pass on experiences from your own stay abroad? Then become part of the student initiative ESN TUMi e.V. As a TUMi tutor, you will help foreign students settle in and bring them closer to campus life as well as Munich and the surrounding area with all its cultural highlights. TUM Open Campus – A taste of university for prospective students
In March 2023, TUM campuses in Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan and Straubing will once again open their doors on Fridays to all prospective students who want to find out more about bachelor studies at TUM. Numerous offers await you to support you in your choice of studies. TUM Master’s Days 2023 virtual
The many opportunities at TUM in the Master's field will be presented at the Master's Days 2023 from March 20 to 24, 2023. Prospective students will be able to find out about Master's programs and get in touch with contact persons at the various TUM schools and service offices. TUM service facilities and the Munich Student Union will also provide information on the advisory network, living in Munich and the transition to professional life or research, thus enabling future students to plan their studies at TUM and their subsequent steps towards a career with foresight. TUM PREP: Become a buddy for students from UK, USA, Canada
From the beginning of July to the beginning of September, students from universities in the UK, the USA, and Canada will visit us in the framework of the TUM Practical Research Experience Program (TUM PREP) to work on research projects in various TUM Schools and departments. To support the TUM PREP participants, we are looking for students who can spend time with our guests, introduce them to Munich, Bavaria, and the whole of Germany, and offer help in case of questions as well as practical support. Intercultural Training: "Fit for Studying in Germany"
For TUM international students: How do traditions of teaching and learning in an academic environment differ from one culture to another? Which conventions exist regarding the communication between professors, lecturers and students during, before and after lectures? These and many other questions surrounding studying at a German university will be covered in this half day seminar from an intercultural perspective. Intercultural competencies for multicultural teams
What exactly are the ingredients for successful collaboration in multicultural settings? How do we develop cultural agility? How does our mind set, values, attitudes and personal background shape the way in which we interact with others? With these and other questions, future engineers will deal within this interactive workshop and prepare themselves for working in multicultural teams. Fit in citation – master your thesis successfully
The bachelor's or master's thesis is getting closer and you don't feel fit in citing? Language learning during the semester break
Take the opportunity during the semester break to immerse yourself into some intensive language-learning at the TUM Language Center. Whether it’s a totally new language you’ve always wanted to delve into or one you’d like to further perfect, the semester break block courses enable you to complete a range of our most popular courses within a couple of weeks. You’ll cover the same content and earn the same credits as you would during the semester classes, so do expect to be busy. Find the courses on offer here: Courses TUM Language Center. Chinese for English speakers
Are you considering learning Chinese? Are you worried that a Chinese course taught in German might be a little bit tricky? This Summer semester, TUM Language Center offers Chinese A1.1 and A1.2 taught in English. After completing the A1 level, students will gain an overview of the Chinese language, will be confident to introduce themselves in Chinese, and can find their way in everyday situations using basic vocabulary and sentences. Students learn not only how to write Chinese characters, but also how to type Chinese characters on the computer. In addition, the Lecturer will explain the difference between dialects, traditional and simplified Chinese characters. This is also your chance to have a taste of Chinese pop music, online channels and snacks! Native German speakers are of course welcome.
Learn Catalan at the TUM Language Center
The Catalan language belongs to the family of Romance languages and is spoken mainly in the autonomous region of Catalonia. You will learn it easily if you speak a Romance language similar to Spanish or Italian. Here you can register: Registration TUM Language Center Catalan
