Deutsche Post to sell envelopes with cancellation on April 12 in the TUM main building

Postage stamp commemorates TUM anniversary

The German Federal Ministry of Finance is issuing a 150 cent postage stamp to commemorate 150 years of TUM. On the anniversary day, April 12, Deutsche Post will sell envelopes with the TUM anniversary design bearing the special edition postage stamp and first day of issue cancellation in the TUM main building.

The postage stamp depicts the Oskar von Miller Tower, the Thiersch Tower, and the Atomic Egg.

The postage stamp depicts three characteristic buildings symbolizing the history of TUM: the intricate Oskar von Miller Tower of 2010, which collects weather data for research at the Garching campus; the 1916 Thiersch Tower, the characteristic symbol of the historical Munich main campus; and the legendary Atomic Egg, Germany's first research reactor built in 1958.

A "special post office" will offer the postage stamp, the first day of issue cancellation and the envelope on April 12 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm in front of the matriculation hall in the main building on the Munich campus.
