John Kerry has been a key figure in global diplomacy and climate policy for more than four decades. As US Secretary of State (2013-2017) under US President Barack Obama, he played a crucial role in negotiating the Paris Climate Agreement. He previously represented Massachusetts in the US Senate (1985-2013) and was the Democratic presidential candidate in 2004. Most recently, he was the US President's first Special Envoy for Climate Change from 2021 to 2024, advocating for climate action at a global level.
