Immerse yourself in visions for the future! The Immersive Realities Hackathon is a 4-day event that brings together students, mentors, and stakeholders from across the globe to explore the societal challenges and opportunities posed by immersive technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR).

The event features hands-on workshops, mentoring sessions, and an opportunity to win up to €1,000 in cash prizes. Participants will work in teams on innovative solutions to real-world challenges across three thematic tracks:

  • AI and XR – Enhancing human experiences through AI-powered immersive environments.
  • Games & Learning – Using immersive realities to transform education and skill development.
  • Virtual Society – Exploring the future of online communities, governance, and global citizenship.

Further information

Co-organized with the Responsible Technology Hub and Women in AI, with support from major industry players like Meta, AI for Good Global Summit, International Telecommunication Union, StellDirVor, W3MUC and XR Hub Bavaria, the hackathon offers a unique platform for collaboration between students, industry, and civil society. The Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs acts as a patron.

Students from all Bavarian universities and disciplines welcome, individually or in teams. No prior experience with immersive technologies is necessary – just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!
