A spotlight on research
Freisinger Science Slam
Event location
Lindenkeller Freising
Public event
A very special highlight awaits the city of Freising: the first joint Science Slam of Freising's five leading research institutions in the Lindenkeller!
Starting at 19:00, scientists from the Weihenstephan campus will present their research in entertaining, understandable and humorous short talks. The TUM School of Life Sciences (TUM), the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL), the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (Fraunhofer IVV) and the Leibniz Institute for Food Systems Biology at the Technical University of Munich (Leibniz-LSB@TUM) will be taking part.
For TUM, Simone Göppert will be on the Science Slam stage with the topic "Kitchen secrets of the immune system: How does the cell recognize viruses?". She has been doing her doctorate at the Chair of Molecular Dynamics at TUM since 2020. Fascinated by the mysteries of the immune system, she is researching the mechanisms of the MHC receptor. For this, Simone Göppert does not use the laboratory, but computer simulations to understand the behavior of these crucial receptors.
Admission from 6 p.m.
