From 25 Oct - Lectures and field trip for children aged 7-12

KinderUni starting into a winter semester full of energy

When children hungry for knowledge fill the lecture hall and professors make their research exciting and understandable to them: it's KinderUni in Munich again – the university for children. It will be hosted by the Technical University this fall and winter, inviting children aged 7 to 12. Look forward to five lectures and a field trip, and Munich's very first KinderUni lecture in English.

The lectures leave plenty of time for questions from curious children.

A very active lecture at TUM’s sports and health campus at the Olympic park will start off the winter semester 2024/25 of Munich’s university for children: In "Energy with a difference" (October 25), the young students will learn how the metabolism works - and where the energy we consume during sport actually comes from.

Children's lectures and excursions

Whether in Munich or at the Garching research campus: TUM professors explain their research in an exciting and understandable way, for example about what a power plant a cow is, treasure hunting on the moon, or international climate protection. Due to the great interest, the field trip to the KI.Fabrik Bayern, a kind of kindergarten for intelligent robots, is already fully booked.

New: Lecture in English

For the first time this year, KinderUni Munich is also offering a lecture in English - after all, TUM is an international university where people from all over the world come to research and study. In "How to fuel a rocket with water" (22 November), space expert Prof. Chiara Manfletti explains how a spaceship can fly through space using water as fuel.

Admission to all events is free. They are open to children aged 7 to 12. Register via www.kinderuni-muenchen.de
