Top university in the EU

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has achieved its highest ever position in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. It has improved again, moving up four positions to 26th place in the world. This once again puts it at the top in the European Union.

Researchers at the Munich Data Science Institute — TUM works in a particularly interdisciplinary way, like the researchers at the Munich Data Science Institute.

TUM has made rapid and significant progress in the rankings of the renowned British magazine Times Higher Education in recent years. Since 2015, it has improved from 53rd place to 26th place. In the EU, it is the best university.

The THE rankings take various factors into account: on the one hand, academics worldwide are asked about the reputation of universities in research and teaching. On the other hand, data such as the number of publications per researcher, citations per publication, the ratio of teaching staff to students, third-party funding raised from industry, the number of patents and the degree of internationalization are evaluated.

Numerous other recognized rankings regularly confirm the internationally outstanding quality of TUM in research, teaching and innovation. TUM is ranked 28th in the QS Rankings, 19th in Engineering and 23rd in Natural Sciences. It is among the top 5 in the world in Digital Leaders in Higher Education. In the Global University Employability Ranking, it is ranked 13th, and in the THE University Impact Ranking, it is the world leader in innovation.
