International scientists expand TUM’s global network

First TUM Ambassadors appointed

The Technische Universität München (TUM) has appointed 12 renowned international researchers as its first TUM Ambassadors. The scientists formerly conducted research at the TUM and still maintain particularly close ties to the university. Today they are excellent global ambassadors for the TUM and the German academic landscape.

The TUM Ambassadors are keen to expand TUM's global network, spot talent worldwide and advise young TUM scientists as they make their way into the international arena. At the first Research Alumni Forum they engaged with university management, junior scientists and other TUM alumni, and discussed their visions for the future.

For its concept of long-term collaboration with its international alumni scientists, the TUM was given an award of the 2012 ideas competition “Research Alumni of Universities in Germany” of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
