Protestant and Catholic University Communities:

Open to everyone

For many students, it is very important to get into contact with others and become part of a community – especially at the beginning of a course of studies. In this regard, the Protestant and the Catholic University Communities at TUM (EHG and KHG) are open to everyone.

The EHG offers, among other things, vivo at Campus Garching, a place of friendship and faith. Every Wednesday, there is a morning meeting at 9 am, to start your day with a fresh impetus. Thursdays, there is a meeting from 10:30 am to 12 pm – an opportunity for worship, prayer, and exchange on a specific topic. Location: spiritum, Boltzmannstr. 17, Campus Garching.

At tumeet, everyone is welcome to share a meal at 6:30 pm, to get a Christian impulse and to exchange ideas about current and interesting topics of life.

On November 10 (at 6:30 pm), there will be a conversation meeting with the Protestant theologian Walter Joelsen, in which the 90-year-old will talk about his personal experiences in the era of National Socialist. Coming from a German-Jewish family, he was expelled from the “Gymnasium” and later conscripted to forced labor. His aim is to share his experiences with the younger generation to ensure that this era will never be forgotten. He is accompanied by Pastor Dr. Björn Mensing, who works at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. EHG-TUM (6:30 pm to 10 pm), Gabelsbergerstr. 9, Munich, Germany.

Counseling and pastoral care: The Pastors of the EHG will provide professional and individual advice, in a confidential setting, during the office hours – in Munich with Pastor Dr. Claudia Häfner (every Thursday from 11 am to 12 pm, Gabelsberger Str.), in Garching with Pastor Katarina Freisleder (every Wednesday from 09:30 am to 10:30 am, MW 0016) – or by individual appointment. Foreign students can also contact Anneclaude Casse.
