TUM expands executive management
Prof. Werner Lang is new TUM Vice President Sustainable Transformation
Architect Werner Lang has been a full professor at TUM since 2010. Before that he taught at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture, where he headed the Center for Sustainable Development. In addition to his activities as researcher and TUM university instructor, Prof. Lang is also Director of the Oskar von Miller Forum and is the winner of the 2022 TUM Sustainability Award.
TUM President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann said: "The TUM Sustainable Futures Strategy will make our university an exemplary catalyst for the sustainable transformation of society, integrating scientific progress, economic constancy, ecological boundaries and social justice in the transformation process.
Our ambitions include minimizing consumption of energy and resources through increased efficiency as well as eliminating greenhouse gas emissions, for example by promoting reduced-emission mobility. At the same time improved equality, more diversity and inclusion and ensured healthy conditions for study and work are also part of our sustainability agenda. As Vice President, Prof. Werner Lang, an internationally renowned expert, will now support these developments effectively and energetically."
