As part of the Munich AI Lectures, Alexei A. Efros from UC Berkeley will speak on the topic "We are (still) not given data enough credit".

Alexei (Alyosha) Efros is a professor at UC Berkeley and a member of the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (BAIR), where he conducts research in computer vision and computer graphics, particularly at the intersection of these two fields. He is particularly interested in using data-driven techniques to solve problems where large amounts of unlabeled visual data are available.

The lecture will also be available as a live stream.

The Munich AI Lectures are a joint initiative of baiosphere, Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW), Helmholtz Munich, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Technical University of Munic (TUM), AI-HUB@LMU, ELLIS Chapter Munich, Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Reliable AI (relAI), Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML), Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) and Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI), coordinated by the Bavarian AI Agency. The aim is to bring luminaries of AI research to Munich and to promote exchange on exciting AI topics.
