BR presents bioengineering program

DNA analysis in schools

PCR equipment, genetic engineering, enzyme reactions – it is still extremely rare to see pupils carrying out biotechnology experiments in school classrooms. This is made possible under a program offered by TUM and the Amgen Foundation and by the school network of the Schülerforschungszentrum Berchtesgadener Land, a research center for pupils. The broadcaster BR was on hand as a school class carried out a DNA analysis experiment.

Track and field athlete Christina Hering doing performance diagnostics at TUM

Real-time data for optimized training

Just a few meters from the Olympic Stadium, at the new Sports and Health Sciences Campus, research is being conducted into state-of-the-art performance diagnostics. Christina Hering, 13-time German 800-meter champion and TUM alumna, is working with a team from the Chair of Performance Analysis and Sports Informatics on her load control and running technique. German TV station ZDF accompanied her.
