Special Conditions for Certain Countries
Applicants with a higher education entrance qualification from the following countries/provinces need to be aware of the additional requirements listed below:
For some master's programs at the TUM School of Management, applicants with a bachelor's degree from Egypt must prove a GMAT score of at least 640 points. Detailed information can be found on the website of the TUM School of Management.
Applicants for bachelor's or master's degree programs need to apply for a Preliminary Documentation (VPD) via uni-assist. in addition to applying to TUM directly.
For certain programs, you also need to provide a current GRE (Graduate Record Examination). The GRE is an internationally accepted, standardized graduate admission test. For further information please refer to the Study and Examination Regulations or the websites of your school or department.
N.B.: In order to apply, you need to provide the GRE General Test – the Subject Test does not suffice. When applying for Studienkolleg, you do not need to provide a GRE.

For some master's programs at the TUM School of Management, applicants with a bachelor's degree from Bangladesh must prove a GMAT score of at least 640 points. Detailed information can be found on the website of the TUM School of Management.
- Applicants for the Studienkolleg preparatory studies: please upload your APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate during the online application.
- Bachelor’s degree applicants: please upload the following documents to uni-assist for your preliminary documentation:
- School certificate (confirmation of 11 or 12 years of formal education)
- University entrance exam results
- School transcript
- APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate
- Master’s degree applicants: please upload the following documents to uni-assist for your preliminary documentation:
- University Diploma
- Transcript of Records (TOR)
- APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate
If you have completed your undergraduate degree (e.g. bachelor's) outside of China, the APS certificate will still be listed in the online application portal as mandatory for admission. In this case, you need to submit a certified copy of your final graduation documents / degree certificate as certified copy to TUM within the enrollment period. Preliminary certificates, confirmations of graduation etc. are not sufficient. The mandatory requirement of an APS certificate will only be waived once the final graduation documents are submitted. Only then can you be enrolled in your desired program.
- Doctoral degree applicants: APS certificate not necessary

Please note that if you are admitted, your undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree must be presented as a (notorized) certified copy bearing an apostille (additional authentification of notarized documents for international purposes) upon enrollment. The apostille must appear on both the Georgian-language original and the translation.

GRE and GATE are internationally accepted, standardized graduate admission tests. Please note that when applying with a GRE, you need to provide the General Test – the Subject Test does not suffice.
Graduates with a degree from an Indian Institute of Technology do not need to provide a separate GATE. When applying for Studienkolleg, you do not need to provide a GATE or GRE. Please upload your transcript from the Indian Institute of Technology instead of the GRE/GATE document. The upload slot cannot remain empty.

If you have obtained your higher education entrance qualification in Jordan, you must submit a Preliminary Documentation (VPD) from uni-assist with your application, that was issued no earlier than 01.12.2020. VPDs issued at an earlier date can unfortunately not be recognized.
Bachelor's degree applicants: please send the following documents to uni-assist:
- School-leaving examination certificate (Reifeprüfungszeugnis)
- End-of-year academic record (Jahreszeugnis) of the last school year
- Record of course schedule (Stundentafel)

For some master's programs at the TUM School of Management, applicants with a bachelor's degree from Pakistan must prove a GMAT score of at least 640 points. Detailed information can be found on the website of the TUM School of Management.
With regard to tuition fees for students from third countries, the following special regulations apply to students from Switzerland:
Students with Swiss citizenship are exempt from fees for international students if they have a sonstiges Aufenthaltsrecht – for example as an employee or self-employed person or as a member of their family. In this case, an exemption applies due to the established domestic connection.
Otherwise, studying a bachelor’s or master’s at TUM is subject to tuition fees for people with Swiss citizenship.
For enrollment, the university degree certificate (for example “Ingeniero Tecnico”) including the complete transcript of grades must be submitted in officially certified form (original and translation). If your university issues these documents with a verification code, they do not need to be additionally certified.
Alternatively, it is possible to submit a Diploma Supplement as an officially certified copy.
Please note: The proof of payment for the issuance of the certificate is not accepted as a substitute document.
Applicants for a Bachelor’s degree program need to send the following documents to uni-assist:
- Higher education entrance examination (“Evaluación de Bachillerato para el Acceso a la Universidad” or “Pruebas de Acceso a la Universidad”)
- Overview of subjects and grades of the last two school years of the “Bachillerato” (grades 11 and 12)
- Graduation certificate (“Título de Bachiller”)
With regard to tuition fees for students from third countries, the following special regulations apply to students from Turkey:
Students with Turkish citizenship are exempt from the fees for international students if:
- at least one parent lives in Germany at the time of application and
- he parent living in Germany is or has been continuously and lawfully employed in Germany for at least one year or in the past for at least one year (self-employment is not considered employment in this case) and
- the applicant lives with their with the parent who meets the above criteria (main or secondary residence) at the time of application.
Otherwise, studying a bachelor’s or master’s at TUM is subject to tuition fees for people with Turkish citizenship.
With regard to tuition fees for students from third countries, the following special regulations apply to students from the United Kingdom:
Students with citizenship from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are exempt from the fees for international students if they were already resident in Germany before December 31, 2020 (“Brexit”).
Otherwise, studying a bachelor’s or master’s at TUM is subject to tuition fees for people with UK citizenship.
- Applicants for the Studienkolleg preparatory studies: please upload an APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate during the online application. The Academic Evaluation Center in Hanoi issues a digitally signed verification certificate (“DigiZert”), that you must submit.
- Bachelor’s degree applicants: please upload your APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate to uni-assist when applying for a Preliminary Documentation (VPD).
- Master’s degree applicants: please upload your APS (Akademischen Prüfstelle) certificate to uni-assist when applying for a Preliminary Documentation (VPD).
- Doctoral degree applicants: APS certificate not necessary
