At the Teaching Symposium, lecturers, students and didacticians gather at the TUM Science & Study Center Raitenhaslach to reflect on current developments in teaching and to create new formats. The spectrum of topics ranges from the digitization of teaching via didactic methods to lifelong learning.

Teaching Symposium 2022

Project Weeks, Plug-in Modules, Problem-based Learning or digital teaching and exams: Academic teaching has been changing rapidly, and not just since Corona. At the Teaching 2022 Symposium from March 31 to April 1 at the TUM Science & Study Center Raitenhaslach, electurers, students, and experts from university didactics and science management exchanged views on current developments and worked together on creative concepts for TUM's teaching of the future.

Teaching Symposium 2019: Curricula for the Challenges of the Future

How can curricula be further developed to meet the challenges of the future? To shed light on this topic, the Teaching Symposium was held at the TUM Science & Study Center Raitenhaslach on May 16 and 17, 2019. Around 70 participants discussed various issues and approaches to the further development of curricula at the Teaching Symposium.

Various working groups at the event addressed, among other things, how transdisciplinarity can be anchored in curricula, which competencies are needed with regard to digitization, and which approaches to challenge and support can be used to address the increasing heterogeneity of students.

 

Teaching Symposium 2017: The Future of Teaching

The future of teaching was the focus of the Teaching Symposium 2017, which took place on May 15 and 16, 2017, at the TUM Akademiezentrum Raitenhaslach. More than 80 participants discussed with external speakers topics including “Perspectives for TUM: Agenda Lehre”, “Competence and Personality Development in Studies”, “Transdisciplinary Modules”, “Future of University Teaching – Content and Formats” and “Incentives and Commitments”.

Teaching Symposium 2015: Individual Teaching and Learning Paths

Students' biographies, lifelong learning against the backdrop of demographic change – all these developments influence didactics and the organization of teaching. A trend toward more individuality in teaching and learning is emerging.

In order to discuss these developments, TUM invited participants to the first Teaching Symposium in October 2015. Experts from various universities examined the topic of “Individual teaching and learning paths” from different perspectives. The event took place at TUM's downtown campus.
